Haworth is an all year round tourist area, certainly it attracts many
visitors throughout the year who come to see the Bronte Parsonage Museum
and the Worth Valley Railway as well as other events including the excellent
annual and seasonal events such as regular vintage steam trains arriving
at the Worth Valley railway, the “Discover Christmas Past” event during
December and the popular 40’S weekend in May. A useful information booklet
with a number of local attractions, events, restaurants and useful telephone
numbers is provided for our guests.
For those wanting to explore further afield the city of Leeds is excellent for a spot of designer shopping, whilst the likes of Bradford, Halifax and Huddersfield have numerous attractions such as the excellent Alhambra theatre and National Media Photography museum, IMAX screen cinema in Bradford and the famous “Salts” Mill at Saltaire, host to the David Hockney art collection.
Skipton Castle, Bolton Abbey and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales are located
in nearby Skipton, whilst Halifax offers the likes of the Dean Clough Art
Gallery, Victoria Theatre and the historic Piece Hall yard and finally
Huddersfield and nearby Holmfirth – the “Last of the Summer Wine” country.
Bronte Country is a delight for walkers and hikers alike with many local footpaths and walkways for those wanting to stretch themselves further; Skipton the gateway to the dales offers some wonderful walks and views over the Yorkshire moors. There are many beautiful attractions and local sights all within easy reach from Haworth.
