Haworth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Yorkshire, thanks to its connection with the Bronte family. Charlotte, Anne and Emily Bronte grew up in Haworth and the moors surrounding the village were inspiration for classics including Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights. The Bronte Parsonage Museum in Haworth tells the story of the Brontes and contains many fascinating artefacts. The Worth Valley Railway is very close to Haworth; one of the best preserved steam railways in the UK, the Worth Valley Railway was used in many scenes in the famous film ‘The Railway Children.’
Haworth has a wealth of interesting shops and several welcoming pubs, cafes, bars and restaurants offering plenty of different options for eating out.

If you’d like to explore a little further afield, Leeds offers fantastic shopping and interesting museums whilst Bradford has the National Film and Photography Museum and the Alhambra theatre. The Yorkshire towns of Halifax and Holmfirth are also well worth a visit. Holmfirth is, of course, home to ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ whilst Halifax has the Piece Hall and Dean Clough Art Gallery.

The market town of Skipton makes the ideal day out as does the beautiful Bolton Abbey Estate, Yorkshire seat of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. Criss-crossed with beautiful walking routes, Bolton Abbey offers some wonderful views of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Dales is one of the loveliest areas in the UK and with its dramatic hills and pretty villages is a must for any visitors to Yorkshire.
